Baxandall's Ultimate Update
Put the Heritage Audio Symph EQ on your master bus and you'll infuse your mixes with sweet-sounding highs and natural, tight bass. This stereo asymptotic shelving EQ offers an exciting upgrade to classic Baxandall-style units, with 0.5dB precision rotary controls and MS processing for hyper-accurate tone shaping that's guaranteed to elevate your projects. Symph EQ delivers super-transparent sound with near-zero phase shifts and other sonic artifacts, and it's as simple to use as the bass and treble controls on an old stereo system. The Symph EQ features state-of-the-art Carnhill transformers, 73 Class A output stages and gold-plated XLR connectors.
Asymptotic stereo equalization explained
Symph EQ is an asymptotic stereo equalizer, in which the boost or cut amplitude of its shelf curves increases until the asymptotic value is reached. These curves ensure that the unit's ultra-high and sub-low frequencies remain well controlled. The end result sounds strong, sweet and natural, with exceptionally low phase deviation. It's this level of sonic transparency that makes Symph EQ ideal for mastering tasks.
MS processing enables an unprecedented level of precision
We're impressed with the level of precision of the Heritage Audio Symph EQ. All of its controls use high quality rotary switches with 0.5dB precision. Built-in MS processing allows you to manage center bass with complete precision as well as high-pan sources without affecting the centers. Additionally, when in MS mode, the unit's side high-pass filter is similar to the elliptical-type filters employed by older disc cutters.
High-quality components achieve high-fidelity sound
Symph EQ is built with state-of-the-art components. Carnhill input and output transformers ensure robust, high-fidelity sound, while Type 73 Class A output stages further minimize unwanted distortion. You also get balanced, ungrounded I/O and gold-plated XLR connectors to ensure solid connections.
